Herbal (Botanical) Medicine
The use of plants or plant extracts to treat disease.
Traditional Chinese Medicine
TCM includes classical Chinese theory, Chinese botanicals, and acupuncture/acupressue techniques.
This can involve traditional adjustments or manipulation, therapeutic ultrasound, and interferential or muscle stimulation for muscle aches or spasms.
A non-invasive and painless way to manipulate the flow of cerebralspinal fluid through the spine and skull. This is often used to treat mental or emotional stress, back and neck pain, migraine headaches, TMJ Syndrome and other chronic pain disorders.
Nutrition While most often including evidence-based dietary advice, nutrition also entails education in terms of requirements based upon metabolic type, blood type, resting metabolic rate, vitamin and mineral status, and absorption and assimilation capabilities.
Counseling The majority of patients require counseling on some level at one point in their road to health... whether it be emotional, family, relationship, or nutritional in nature.
Lifestyle Modification Generally, lifestyle modification simply involves educating patients about their work schedules, dietary habits, exercise routines, and sleep patterns and how they impact their daily lives in terms of physiology and current symptom(s).
Homeopathy First defined by Samuel Hahnemann in the 18th century, homeopathy utilizes the belief that 'like treats like.' For example, if a patient came to see a classical homeopath with a bee sting the practitioner may give the patient diliuted bee venom in order to invoke a healing response from within. A similar, modern parallel could be drawn to viral vaccinations where a small piece of the original virus is used to encourage an immune response against future exposure.
Allergy Testing and Desensitization Using the MSA machine we can painlessly determine which of thousands of possible substances one might be sensitive or even allergic to. Using the same machine and fundamentals we can then create custom tailored dilutions of the offending substance(s) using just purified water that can be taken orally. This is very similar to the typical dilution injections given via an allergist only without the painful injection.
Bioidentical Hormone Therapy BHRT involves the use of hormones or steroids extracted from plants or animals and then manipulated to become molecularly identical to those produced in the human body. This is often used to treat the hormonal imbalances during menopause, perimenopause, and post-menopause but can also be useful in treating adrenal, thyroid, gonad, ovarian, and pituitary disfunction.
Metabolic Rate Testing Using a simple machine to measure the amount of oxygen consumed at rest over a 5 minute period of time we can easily determine the number of calories burned to determine one's metabolic rate. Once you have your metabolic rate determined, it's relatively easy to stay within caloric guidelines to facilitate weight loss.
