What is a Naturopathic Physician?

Naturopathic Physicians (NDs) are doctors specializing in Natural Medicine. Along with MDs and DOs, NDs are licensed to provide their patients with general outpatient medical care. Unlike other doctors however, Naturopathic Physicians are especially concerned with restoring optimal health and removing causes of disease instead of controlling disease symptoms with medications. Naturopathic Doctors are trained in and refer for conventional therapy when appropriate.
